The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the ways to remain fit with the focus on both physical and mental well-being. While exercising, dieting and sleeping have always been considered important for a healthy mind and body, experts are now claiming a reversal of these steps to attain optimum fitness. Covid-19 has led to an increase in the number of individuals with mental and physical illnesses. Weight gain, insomnia, joint pain, among others crippled the lifestyles of the individuals. To reverse the effect of the virus on individuals, health experts have come up with several fitness mantras that can be integrated in the daily lifestyle to remain healthy in the post pandemic world.

Exercise but don’t push yourself

According to fitness coaches, individuals who are recovering from Covid-19 are suggested to start slow as their bodies are still weak and have low immunity. One can begin with a low intensity workout and gradually move towards the intense ones. Taking out 30 minutes every day for exercising would improve body’s overall fitness levels, increase muscle strength, improve balance, reduce stress, and improve energy levels. Bodyweight exercises such as lunges, squats, push-ups, can be reinforced during the fitness sessions.

A balanced diet

Apart from exercising, a well-balanced diet is one of the most crucial factors to determine the status of your physical health. During pandemic, people restrained from eating junk and fast food, which significantly improved the percentage of essential vitamins and minerals in their bodies. To maintain that post-pandemic, it’s necessary to consume healthy food including the seasonal fruits and vegetables. Additionally, eating a variety of foods from different groups increases the intake of different nutrients in the body.

Sound mind for a sound body

Studies suggest that individuals with a positive outlook and an optimistic approach, lead a prolonged life as compared to those who have a negative and pessimistic attitude. Keeping a positive attitude not only builds a healthier immune, it also boosts the overall health. That’s why, it is advised to not worry about what’s going to happen tomorrow. One should always live in the present and value the things they have in life. When you think well about yourself, others also think about you the same way.

Sleep is as essential as exercise

The last fitness mantras  is to have a sound sleep every day after a hectic schedule as your body and mind needs relaxation. Those who are suffering from insomnia are advised to sleep in a dark room. Sound sleep rejuvenates your mind and stabilizes your body mechanism. Once you improve your sleeping schedule, your stress is reduced automatically. A sound sleep not only helps in improving memory, but it also enhances individuals’ mood, making them more patient and tolerant.
