Herpes Simplex Treatment:
If you have symptoms of herpes, you must visit a doctor as quickly as possible. It can be diagnosed easily, if there are sores. Treatment can be started soon with a little chance of infection and pain.
Medicines can help, although herpes cannot be cured completely. The herpes fighting medicines are acyclovir and valacyclovir. These medicines can not only lessen the pain, but also speed up healing of the sores as well. A primary outbreak or a recurrent outbreak can also be treated through these medicines.
In case the medicines are being used to treat a repeat outbreak, they must be started as soon as you feel any tingling, burning or itching. To prevent recurrences, they can also be taken every day. During the primary stage of sores or during recurrence, the patient can put acyclovir on them, which also comes in a cream.
